Where Do You Live?

State:

As you shop for GPS devices for your car, you may find 2 or 3 brands and find yourself conflicted concerning which device to purchase. This is especially difficult if you are searching for something that offers affordability and portability. The variety offered in your local shopping center may not be very comprehensive, which might induce you to search on the internet and attempt to find better options. Once you’ve looked, you’ll be surprised at the number of GPS manufacturers are actually in existence. Navman GPS products are one of the manufacturers that you won’t hear about very often because they have no shops in the United States and Canada, but lots of them in the the British Isles and Australia. Still, their latest line-up of gadgets looks quite impressive. Another great model to consider is the Garmin Nuvi 1200 Portable GPS Navigator.

Navman F15

The Navman F15 looks to be the one Navman product currently available in the US and, naturally, US maps including Puerto Rico are included. Despite the fact that the Navman F15 is not quite a widescreen GPS unit, the 3.5” touch screen combined with its straightforward user interface make it a very simple device overall. Setting  up the device is quicker than quite a few other GPS models, which usually require some minor electrical work in order for the unit to behave the way you need it to. These two advantages easily define the F15 as a practical device for beginners to get started with GPS navigation as a whole.

The problem is, the navigation system itself may let down many people because it’s not as accurate as several other American made GPS devices you could find. There may be one or two instances in which you seem to go around in circles, but we’re also aware of some reports of the Navman being spot-on, so it will likely vary according to the area you’re traveling in. Your Navman’s points of interest might include the usual restaurants and hotels, but the number of POI’s offered with the map are rather anemic compared to the amount of data that larger GPS manufacturers offer. The abbreviated battery life coud be a setback also, but may be understood because this specific GPS model won’t clean out your savings. Setting aside the negatives, the Navman GPS continues to be pretty good thanks to its easy user interface and functions and its effectiveness in planning the fastest route and discovering addresses.

Navman S35

The S35 offers the same 3.5 inch screen as does the F15, and the frame looks pretty fashionable and it is still nicely portable. This is made just for use in Austrailia, provided with over 500,000 points of interest within the country and is provided with the text-to-speech capability which correctly enunciates street names in an Australian accent. The S35 also has a mileage expense reporter which could be excellent for consumers who need to manage gasoline expenditures more accurately. The most current maps of 2008 are automatically included.

Navman S45

The Navman S45 offers the same helpful features and aesthetics as the S35, but the screen is wider; measuring 4.3 inches. Even with the widescreen option, the S45 seems to be reasonably portable. A comparable model is the Garmin Nuvi 1200 GPS Navigation System.

Navman GPS devices are restricted in their range of variety, yet they all attempt to be conveniently portable as well as trustworthy. They met their expectations in producing an attractive and portable profile, but the product could stand some improvements on the accuracy side.
