There are quite a few bangers out there that people will try and sell to you. You will more than likely want to stay away from the four used cars below. Fortunately the majority may already have been scrapped but if you do come across them, the following information should serve as a reminder why they should be avoided.
- A car that was once quite commonly seen on roads in Britain was the Trabat. Especially during the late sixties and early seventies. This was one ugly car and there hasn’t been a car made since which can compete with it in the ugly stakes. Not even a superstar would be able to feel cool in one of these cars. It is with much relief that we know have a lot more choice when it comes to cars so that we don’t have to drive around in one like this anymore.
- The AMC Pacer didn’t sell very well in the UK; which is a blessing all things considered. Even though the aim of the manufacturers was to make this car look futuristic, it just looked tacky and cheap. If you see this car on sale just keep walking.
- If people pointing and laughing at your car is not something that would bother you then you could always buy a Triumph TR7. Remember that there is no such thing as bad publicity as Oscar Wilde once said. If you want to be different to everyone else then go out and buy a Triumph TR7.
- Of the few cars that many people would not want to be driving, the Nissan Micra is right up there among them. You would probably even find that unless a criminal had a mask on, the Nissan Micra would not be something they would want to drive.
So keep these four cars in mind when you are looking for a used car. Of course this is not a comprehensive list but you get the gist. If for some reason you do come across one of these bangers during your travels and you do want to buy, just make sure you get change from twenty quid.
