Ford Motor Company is very much dedicated to preserving the environment and building the greenest cars possible; this can be seen through the incorporation of recycled cotton from old clothing into the 2012 Ford Focus. Some of the material will be used for padding purposes in order to help shield the driver and passengers from exterior noise. Enough fabric material to make up two pairs of denim jeans will be used in each Focus automobile. It will be available in 7 trim levels, from the base S sedan priced at $18,790 up to the deluxe Titanium 5-door sedan at $22,765. The Focus will compete directly with other compact affordable cars such as the Toyota Corolla, the Mazda 3 and Chevrolet Cruze.

The 2012 model sports a brand new chassis and a stiffer suspension for excellent handling. You can even opt for a sport-tuned suspension at an additional cost for super crisp handling. In terms of looks, the Focus sports a kinetic design due to a sporty and athletic form. The front lights are crisp and bold with a bold and distinct Dragon Eye design. For 2012, Focus gets a new set of wheels, 11 of them as a matter of fact which makes it easy to customize it just the way prefer. The Focus is powered by a 2.0 Liter engine with direct injection for a more strategic charge at 155 hp and 145 lb feet of torque. Ford plans on building an additional model with an Ecoboost engine.

What’s new for the 2012 model is Electronic Power Assist which automatically adjusts to road conditions resulting in improved control. Standard features will include a CD stereo system, an adjustable tilt and telescopic steering wheel, power windows, an AC system and fifteen inch steel wheels. Fabulous options include a rear view camera, an advanced navigation system with turn by turn directions and keyless start. The interior looks ultra modern and contemporary, with a LCD screen and blue lighting throughout the instrument clusters for a nice touch.

Safety has been thoroughly addressed by Ford. Standard features include Electronic Stability Control and Anti-Lock Brakes which adjusts pressure to the brakes as may be required. The body of the car is made out of super tough Boron steel, which is four times tougher than regular steel.

MSRP for the 2012 Focus will be $18,790 and hit showrooms in the spring of 2011. This vehicle would be a solid choice for anyone looking for an affordable compact vehicle with a stylish and modern design inside and out. Despite its entry-level price, the Focus offers a ton of amenities, a gorgeous interior and a contemporary kinetic design. An added bonus is the fact that parts of the Focus are constructed out of recycled material; Ford proves that it is willing to use innovative methods in order to be eco-conscious. The 2012 Focus clearly demonstrates that it is competitive enough to go head to head with the dominant Japanese carmakers in the competitive affordable compact car niche.
