Where Do You Live?

State:

Most used car sellers will tell the customer anything that they think will convince them to buy the car; they have a bad reputation for doing this. While there may be some truth in this, it isn’t just the professionals who will deliberately mislead you, or even outright lie to you. Of course it would be wrong to say that everyone selling cars is a liar (the vast majority aren’t), but there are enough of these people that we need to be worried. The following are some of the more common lies that are told by used car sellers.

- Meddling with the odometer on a used car is something that is quite often done to used cars so that people are fooled into thinking that there are less miles on the clock than there really are; this is known as ‘clocking’. Because it is quite easy for a car dealer to push back the miles on the clock of a used car, many of them don’t mind doing this at all. You could be getting lied to if you see that the car looks pretty old but the mileage seems very low.

- Many people selling used cars will try to hide the fact that the car has been in an accident. It is much easier to hide the signs of an accident outside the car but the problems could be much worse underneath. You may find that if there are signs of repair work to the exterior of the car, that there are other problems underneath which are much bigger. It would be a good idea to look for a different car if you have noticed signs of repair but the seller is insisting that there was never an accident.

- Not having the paperwork for the car and coming up with an elaborate excuse for this is something that many sellers are guilty of. You can probably assume that the car has been stolen if the seller cannot provide any paperwork walk away and don’t buy the car if this is the case.

When the time has come that you should be checking out used cars for sale, it really is always advisable to implement an appropriate exploration beforehand|before hand|before you go]. Good groundwork helps you find only the finest models available. When your exploration is complete, you can very well find yourself with a great Audi R8 or even a BMW 1 Series.
